A very handy, excellently made mount. I like that there are eight different positions you can pick to mount the camera’s base plate, allowing easy balancing possibilities for different camera/lens combinations. I give it one star off because the screw that attaches the camera is just slightly too long, and bottoms out in the camera before the camera is secured to the mounting plate, allowing the camera to rotate too loosely on the plate. This can be fixed either by shortening the screw or adding a washer between the screw and the mounting plate. I tried it out on three different Nikon camera bodies and it was too long for all three, so I doubt it is a camera issue. Off to the hardware store for a couple 1/4″ washers…

This is a solid mount with ADM’s signature impeccable machining and finish. It holds my Canon 6D and EF 24-105 lens like an angry gorilla. Works perfectly with my Celestron AVX mount. A+++

I was concerned about an evaluation I read about this item that stated that the camera mounting bolt was too long and that the user had to use a washer. My copy of this adapter secures the camera tightly. The bolt however is metal mounted in a plastic finger(thumb) turning holder. On my copy of this adapter, it appears that the metal part pf the bolt was not centered in the plastic. This is poor quality control.

The V bar is fantastic, but the DSLR camera mount does not in any way hold a DSLR in place securely. It comes loose with ease regardless of how much it is tightened. I’ve had to mount the DSLR straight to the bar to secure it appropriately. I’m using a Nikon D810

This is a question, what size screw is shown to mount dslr? My camera takes 3/8″ head mount screw so very curious to size.
