Split clamp design grips the dovetail bar along the entire surface of the saddle and will not dent or scratch the dovetail bar. What a great upgrade to my Atlas AZ! Makes everything easier. Sliding the scope when balancing is easier, mounting is easier especially when mounting my SCT where I can’t see the saddle around the scope. Having just the D style rail improves it since you can’t accedently land in the wrong notch on the stock dual saddle.
The extra length makes thing more stable and there is no way you can mount with the rail crooked. What made me buy this is when I found one night that I had tightened my saddle with the rail at an angle. My scope was just hanging on the corners of the saddle for a few minutes until I noticed it. This saddle makes that impossible, plus overall handling is so greatly improved over stock I feel its worth every penny!
Replacing the saddle is also very easy, just 3 set screws and you are done. Takes 5 minutes!
